The name of this piece is EARTH.  It was originally placed with HEAVEN and HELL in an installation in Italy in 1998.  Since then it has traveled to Holland where it spent 2 years on public display and  currently resides in Chicago.

"HOME" was originally

conceived and created in

Amsterdam in 1999.  The

concept and images were

inspired by the Artist's

upbringing in Chicago.

CAMERA OSCURA

(PIN-HOLE CAMERA)

"THE DREAM CATCHER" is a 2 m x 2m x 2m (meter) camera oscura which captures life-size images within a 180 degree field of vision.   Each exposure takes approximately 22 minutes.  This machine also doubles as a darkroom where the photos are developed immediately.  The photographer works  inside the camera while shooting & developing the images.  Because each picture takes so long to render, a change in light or atmosphere can distort / abstract the final result.   No two exposures are ever the same.  This machine is portable /  water proof, and can be placed anywhere in the world.
